After taking in an etour using the Night of the Museum app we ventured outside to watch the balloons be inflated. Wow has that process changed. It used to be just walk up and watch, now there is a whole barracade set up where they send you down toward Amsterdam and then back up before getting you to the balloons outside the museum itself. We did see some in the afternoon before they had all this set up but we did stand in line to take the tour of all of them. It really is neat to see them up close.
Thurs came bright and early. We were out on the street by 7 with blankets (it was only in the 20s), video games to entertain "C" and some breakfast while we waited. We found a good corner spot where we could actually sit down on the curb and I was able to get some great photos of the balloons coming down the street. They were flying low due to the wind, there had been some concern they wouldn't go at all. It was a fun morning and I am so glad we did this with "C". I think his fav part was the Duck Dynasty float, Ariana Grande, the Finn & Jake & Diary of Wimpy Kid balloons.
After some quiet time in the hotel, we headed out for our dinner at Circo (owned by the same people as Le Cirque). It was a fabulous decor with a circus theme and there were lots of other kids there as well. The food was phenomenal.
Friday am we just did a bit of walking around and shopping before heading to the airport for our flight home. We needed to get back for a hockey tournament and flying Fri was a much more enjoyable experience than the weekend would have been I'm sure. We did venture to Macy's on Black Friday, that was crazy as was the M&M store
